Details:

We will have 4 rounds of the table competition. The referees will score the competitors after their turn at the table (just as they will at the Tournament) and hand the score sheets to the kids (that won't happen at the Regional Tournament). We will not record or post the scores. There will be no judged events.

The scrimmage is a practice competition to get everyone used to the energy levels of a competition without the pressure, and to get everyone motivated for the tournament on December 13th. It's a lot of fun and the kids get a ton of good ideas. Even if you can only get one task half done when you show up, you will be able to get 2 or more tasks done when you leave. Every year we see a dramatic improvement in team performances at the scrimmage. It's a lot of fun and a great way to get the kids, and adults, motivated to solve this year's challenge.

There will be two sets of competition tables and two sets of practice tables. The schedules will be available the day of the competition. For the practice tables, teams will be able to sign up for time slots on the tables on the day of the scrimmage. I already have 4 tables and field kits that will be used for the competition tables. We will need an additional 4 tables with field kits for the practice tables. Set up will be on Friday the 14th at 5:00 pm, so we will need you to be able to deliver the table and field kit to the school at about that time. When you respond to this email, please indicate if you will be able to provide a table with a field kit to be used for the practice tables all day long.

Food will be served at the cafeteria. The bleachers will be pulled out for fans to watch the activities.
